Thank you for your interest in the City of Thorold Community Market. We will be hosting a weekly Market at the Battle of Beaverdams Park between the first week of June and Labour Day Weekend. 

To celebrate this new adventure, the City will not be charging vendor fees for the 2023 season. We hope that you will join us in this exciting community opportunity!

Thorold Community Market: Vendor Terms and Conditions

All Vendors

  1. Vendor placement is at the discretion of City Staff. Preference will be given to vendors with a Thorold address. 
  2. The Market Coordinator will be responsible for directing vendors while loading and unloading supplies, goods and equipment.
  3. Hydro and water access is limited. 
  4. The number of vendors may be limited at the discretion of City Staff. Preference will be given to vendors with a Thorold address.
  5. Vendors must stay for the duration of the Market. Set up and take down times will be provided before the start date.
  6. Vendor space is limited. Additional space may be given at the discretion of City Staff. 
  7. All Vendors must display a sign indicating their business name. 
  8. All Vendors must provide the City with a Certificate of Insurance listing the City of Thorold (3540 Schmon Parkway) as additionally insured for no less than $2,000,000 liability. Alternatively, Vendors may purchase insurance through Instant Risk Insurance.  
  9. Vendors may not sublet. 
  10. Vendors are responsible for all set up requirements of their alloted space. Tables, chairs and tents will not be provided. 
  11. Vendors shall remove all refuse and litter from their area prior to departure.
  12. Vendors are subject to the City's Code of Conduct Policy. 
  13. The sale or distribution of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, or vape products is strictly prohibited. 
  14. Set up is restricted to the allocation provided by staff. Vendors may not encroach or take another vendors space without approval from City staff.
  15. Vendors must have applicable permits for their products.
  16. You must notify the Market Coordinator of cancellation a minimum of 48 hours prior to scheduled market.
  17. Vendors must comply and conform to the requirements of every applicable statute, by-law, regulation, and ordinance.  
  18. The City of Thorold is not liable for loss or damage due to vandalism, fire, flood, theft or act of god.
  19. Vendors agree to hold harmless the Corporation of the City of Thorold from any claims arising from their participation in the Thorold Community Market.

Farm Vendors

  1. Farm Vendors must list the types of food they would like to bring to the Market Coordinator.
  2. Farm Vendors are subject to Public Health Guidelines.
  3. Farm Vendors must meet the minimum temporary food service standards.
  4. Farm products include any product grown on a farm. This typically includes fruits, vegetables, herbs, honey, and maple products.
  5. All services must be in compliance with Ontario Food Premise Regulation 562.

Prepared Food Vendors

  1. It is encouraged that Food Vendors source ingredients from locally sourced/ grown products. 
  2. Food Vendors are subject to Public Health Guidelines. 
  3. Food shall be made for “ready to eat consumption”.
  4. Food vendors must provide a Public Health inspection Certificate for the kitchen where food was prepared.
  5. All services must be in compliance with Ontario Food Premise Regulation 562.

Craft/ Artisan Vendors

  1. Crafts/ Artisan goods must be created by the crafter/ artisan themselves. Third party goods may not be sold at the Thorold Community Market. 
  2. Goods must be of high quality. 
  3. Repurposed materials are permitted.
